Title: Conservancy for Tibetan Art & Culture

Description: The Conservancy for Tibetan Art and Culture supports activities dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Tibetan culture through teachings, exhibitions, symposia, and cultural research. Its first major project was the hugely successful 1997 Tibetan-themed Smithsonian Folklife Festival "Tibetan Culture Beyond the Land of Snows." Following up on this topic, recent projects of the Conservancy's include documentation of the adaptation of Tibetan culture in the lives of Tibetan-Americans, and the development of sound models for implementing cultural survival programs throughout North America. The website contains a collection of articles on Tibetan cultural preservation and adaptation. The "Cyulture and traditions" page offers a number of short introductory essays to key topics in Tibetan art, religion and the exile community.
