Conclusion

The great LhasaLha sa Temple, the RasaRa sa ’phrul snang, is a fascinating subject well-worth investigation. Jokhang introduces the subject to new audiences, provides fresh insight on previous findings, and presents some new discoveries. In hindsight, [page 460] given the significance of the Rasa TrülnangRa sa ’phrul snang to Tibetan culture, it is surprising this is the first book-length study of the temple in a Western language. But more than anything, Jokhang demonstrates the need for further studies of the Rasa TrülnangRa sa ’phrul snang beyond what one book can possibly offer.
